Virtual Classroom &
Hybrid CDL Training
Flexible Classroom Learning. Professional Hands-On Training.
Milwaukee CDL Institute | Operated by Badger CDL LLC
At Milwaukee CDL Institute, we understand that students have different schedules, learning preferences, and personal responsibilities.
To provide greater flexibility and accessibility, our school offers a Hybrid CDL Training Program, allowing eligible students to complete their initial classroom instruction either virtually through live, instructor-led online sessions or in person at our designated classroom facility.
Our hybrid training model combines convenient classroom learning with the practical, hands-on commercial driving experience necessary to prepare students for their Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Week 1: Classroom Instruction — Virtual or In Person
Week 2 and Beyond: Hands-On CDL Training — In Person Only
Students receive classroom education, CDL permit preparation, and professional driving safety instruction before transitioning into hands-on training at their assigned training location.
1. Week One — Virtual or In-Person Classroom Instruction
Choose the Learning Option That Works Best for You
During the first week of an eligible CDL training program, students may choose between two classroom learning options.
Option A: Live Virtual Classroom
Students may participate remotely in scheduled, instructor-led classroom sessions through Google Meet, Zoom, or another approved live video conferencing platform.
Our virtual classroom provides an interactive learning experience where students can communicate with their instructors in real time.
Virtual classroom students can:
-
Attend scheduled live classroom sessions remotely.
-
Participate in instructor-led CDL theory lessons.
-
Ask questions and receive real-time instructor feedback.

-
Participate in classroom discussions and required educational activities.
-

-

Students must have access to a reliable internet connection and a device capable of supporting live video instruction.
Virtual classroom instruction is provided live by qualified instructors and is not intended to replace required hands-on commercial vehicle training.
Option B: Traditional In-Person Classroom
Students who prefer face-to-face instruction may attend the same scheduled classroom education at Milwaukee CDL Institute's designated training facility.
In-person students receive instruction, educational materials, classroom discussions, permit preparation, and direct assistance from our CDL instructors.
Both options are designed to prepare students for the next stage of CDL training.
2. Week One — CDL Theory & Permit Preparation
Our initial classroom instruction focuses on the knowledge, safety principles, and regulatory responsibilities required for commercial vehicle operation.
Depending on the selected training program, classroom topics may include:

7. Federal Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) Compliance
Milwaukee CDL Institute provides CDL instruction in accordance with applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Entry-Level Driver Training requirements.
Federal ELDT regulations permit qualifying CDL theory instruction to be delivered through online educational methods when applicable instructional, curriculum, assessment, instructor, and recordkeeping requirements are satisfied.
Behind-the-wheel training must be conducted through actual in-person commercial vehicle instruction.
Our hybrid training model distinguishes between:
